I, Dr. Sourish Sanyal, who apart from being the HOD of ECE Department, is also engaged in looking after the Training and Placements of my students of Cooch Behar Government Engineering College (CGEC) which is a new entrant in the fraternity of Government Engineering Colleges. The college from the very beginning is trying hard to keep abreast with cutting edge technologies, upcoming developments and the state of the art engineering practices. The institution is just about to deliver its fresh, first lot of market-ready engineers in 2K20. I am extremely proud to be the first TPO head (officiating) of this new college with a really brilliant first batch of students who are just about to step out from the college.  

The college is situated in an incredible and impeccable beauty of nature just by the bank of Torsha River with pleasant climate at Cooch Behar, a district at Northern part of West Bengal. We have already arranged many seminars and workshops in this college for different departments, executed many programmes for lifting up the soft skills and the level of grooming of the students.  Quality and infrastructure of Laboratories are excellent. We have smart class rooms for long distance teaching and training program. The best teaching-learning practice is adopted here even being a new college.

            The college is having five streams and those are Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering each having a strength of around 70 students. Apart from academics the students are involved in Annual Tech cum Cultural Festivals, nurturing many Tech and Cultural clubs. They have taken part and shown expertise in many sport-events like Cricket, Football, Volley and Badminton.
                      The Cell aspire to work towards the benefit and welfare of the students in one hand and promote the corporate world and society at large catering to their need of fresh new hope in form of our ready engineers on the other. We have already ascertained many private and public sector vocational training and internship for our final and pre-final year students and also institutional vocational training from big academia like IITs, NITs.

                        I assure to all that my students will turn no stone unturned to give their best effort to stand out in the crowd of their peers. I sincerely believe in their potential, perseverance and zeal to succeed. I sincerely believe that they will be immensely successful in every organization they get a chance to work right from very beginning and this is because of their problem-solving nature and cooperative attitude.
